Twangy guitar riffs starting off the track, ‘The Release (Now it's over)’ by ALLEY the band is sure to surprise you with its shifts and transitions. The song has a quiet, soft rock sound to it and the instrumentation will remind you of some of the softer tracks of Led Zeppelin. The vocals are echoey and are full of hope and optimism. Lyrically, the song is all about realising your own worth and getting up, releasing yourself from all that was holding you back, to go and conquer the world. The song with its quiet strength, hope and gentle yet profound instrumentation will have your heart.

The strong guitar tones on the intro remind me a lot of the Humbug era of Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets, but this song has even more of a nostalgic sheen flowing over it- much like a babbling brook over smooth stones on a sunny day.

The blend of the indie-pop and indie-rock genres works so well here, with the mixing of the vocals showcasing the lead singer for all to hear. It's simply mesmersing and is a debut that'll be hard to beat for their fellow South Coast bands.

Their name is now out there, and we can easily see them becoming a big name on their scene - just keep an eye on them, as they're quietly confident and will blow up at any moment.

Recorded and produced by Al Moghadam, ‘The Release (Now It’s Over)’ shines with sophistication and maturity; yet, there is also a naïve innocence peeking through the melody, offering a track that delicately unpicks human fragility with a knowing smile and gentle hand. For me, while the melody is enchanting, it is the overall theme that adds depth to an already weighty single.
